Tour de Terra Cotta

It was a perfect day with comfortable summer temperatures and not a cloud in the sky! Over 150 riders set off on over 100 Km of hill climbs, down hills and flats, ending up in a sprint finish among the elite riders. Altogether they rode 12 laps of the course.

The PARC volunteers provided communications from strategic locations around the course, and from the Commissar's and other race official vehicles. We provided liaison with the OPP officers on duty and St John Ambulance responders. We used the VE3OD repeater. Our thanks to the Halton ARC for granting our use of their machine.

Anyone watching APRS that morning would have seen VA3UPL going round and round as the Commissar Car followed the main peleton as they completed their laps.

Here are a couple of snapshots of the event.
